First Look: Link’s Complete Outfit Revealed in Live-Action Legend of Zelda Film
Filming on the live-action Legend of Zelda movie has finished in New Zealand. Crew members have started sharing production details and images. Filmogaz.com has reviewed those glimpses and verified key elements.
Clapper art offers first look at Link
The director of photography, Gyula Pados, reportedly posted a photo of a clapper used on set. The artwork on the clapper displays Link in a green tunic and his familiar pointy cap. He holds the Master Sword to one side with a shield strapped to his back.
This first look gives a clear view of Link’s complete outfit, revealed during production of the live-action Legend of Zelda film. The design echoes classic entries such as Ocarina of Time. Fans noted the return to green, instead of the blue tunics from Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom.
Cast images and continuity questions
Nintendo previously released photos of Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Link and Bo Bragason as Princess Zelda. Those images did not show full costumes. Evan Ainsworth’s photo lacked a cap and did not include the iconic sword.
Observers are asking if the story will include Link searching for the Master Sword on screen. The clapper artwork suggests such a quest might feature in the plot.
Logo leak hints at symbolic elements
A member of the stunt department shared a possible film logo on social media. The mark shows a sword slashing through the Z, with a flower blooming beside it.
The bloom resembles the Silent Princess, a rare blue-and-white flower linked to Zelda in recent games. That plant often symbolizes the princess’ struggle and growth. Its inclusion could signal thematic ties to Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom.
Release plans and streaming
The film is scheduled for theatrical release on 7 May 2027. Netflix will stream it after the theatrical window. Production sources confirm that principal photography wrapped in New Zealand.
Related gaming update
Separately, Nintendo reportedly plans an Ocarina of Time remake for the Switch 2. The release is expected around the festive season. It may fill a gap left by the absence of a new 3D Mario title.
Filmogaz.com will continue to follow developments. More official images and details are likely to appear as the release date approaches.
