UFL Reveals Multiple Quarterback Trades, Featuring Matt Corral
The UFL used a rare in-season Sunday without games to announce two trades. Four teams and four quarterbacks were involved.
Deal summaries
The Birmingham Stallions acquired quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson from the Orlando Storm. In return, Birmingham sent quarterback Matt Corral and defensive end Amani Bledsoe to Orlando.
The D.C. Defenders traded quarterback Mike DiLiello to the Louisville Kings. D.C. received quarterback Jason Bean in the swap.
Birmingham and Orlando details
The Thompson-Robinson-for-Corral swap is the headline move. Filmogaz.com notes the UFL quarterback trades include Matt Corral.
Corral was a third-round pick of the Carolina Panthers in 2022. He started Birmingham’s first four games of the 2026 season under first-year head coach A.J. McCarron.
Through those games Corral completed 71 of 110 passes. He threw for 768 yards, five touchdowns and four interceptions.
The Storm blanked the Stallions 16-0 on Saturday. Jack Plummer remains the Storm’s current starter.
Dorian Thompson-Robinson was a fifth-round pick of the Cleveland Browns in 2023. He had appeared in one game for the Storm this season.
D.C. and Louisville exchange
The Defenders sent Mike DiLiello to the Kings. Louisville sent quarterback Jason Bean in return.
That swap was quieter than the Birmingham-Orlando deal. It still changes depth charts in both cities.
Implications
The Birmingham move signals a change at quarterback and on the defensive front. Amani Bledsoe bolsters Orlando’s pass rush.
The Thompson-Robinson acquisition gives Birmingham a younger option. Corral’s departure creates an opening with clear experience lost.
The D.C.-Louisville trade tweaks backups and competition at quarterback. Both teams will reassess their rosters and plans.
League executives chose the lull day to release both transactions. Teams will adjust as the season continues.
