Final Fantasy XIV Patch 7.5: Key Highlights from Live Letter

Final Fantasy XIV Patch 7.5: Key Highlights from Live Letter

Final Fantasy XIV players received a major update during Naoki Yoshida’s latest Live Letter. Key details about Patch 7.5 were confirmed, with the first wave launching on April 28.

Main scenario, dungeon and trial

The Patch 7.5 main scenario continues strands from Endwalker. Players will revisit Garlemald ruins in a new dungeon called The Clyteum.

The story also travels back to the moon, Mare Lamentorum. A new antagonist named Halmarut appears, joined by a haunted toy tied to Calyx’s soul.

New trial: Enuo

A new trial boss, Enuo, will debut in both normal and Extreme forms. The Extreme fight emphasizes speed and moving AoE attacks.

This encounter favors focused mechanics over environmental gimmicks. Characters Zero and Golbez are hinted to appear in this arc.

Echoes of Vana’diel Alliance Raid

The 24-player raid series concludes with Windurst: The Third Walk. It expands the Final Fantasy XI crossover storyline.

Shantotto appears as an oversized Tarutaru Black Mage boss. The fight showcases Black Mage-esque mechanics and arena manipulation.

The raid wraps up the guest characters Alxaal and Prishe. Players can also earn a new full-gear set for all jobs.

Crystalline Conflict PvP: Archeia Harmonias

A new Crystalline Conflict map named Archeia Harmonias centers on a library battlefield. The map introduces fresh on-map mechanics.

  • Healing glyphs sit near each spawn. They heal over time and reduce damage by 50%.
  • Aetherometers act as mid-map checkpoints. The payload pauses at these until teams charge them to 100%.
  • Fully charged aetherometers create a bridge and a jump glyph. Jump glyphs act as lasting shortcuts for that team.

These systems are tuned to keep matches fast and engaging.

Beastmaster: new limited job

A Special Job called Beastmaster arrives with Patch 7.5. It functions similarly to Blue Mage as a limited, unique class.

Beastmaster is a melee DPS that starts at level 1 and caps at 50. It requires one normal job at level 50 or higher.

Access and core design

Players must have completed A Realm Reborn and own Dawntrail to unlock Beastmaster. The Job captures beasts in open zones.

There are 50 capturable beasts. Each entry goes into the Master’s Bestiary with lore and skills listed.

Combat systems

Players assign beasts to three Battlehorn slots and can swap them during combat. Only one beast is active at a time.

  • Beast actions include Finisher, Trick, Tempered Release, and Nature’s Gift.
  • Two meters track player and beast resources. When both reach 100, an Instinctual tandem attack can be executed.
  • Elemental affinities build toward Instinctual combos. Combining affinities can trigger Light or Dark effects on the job gauge.

Capturing follows a three-step flow: Gauge check, Weaken, and Catch. You must still defeat the target after catching.

Additional endgame and side content

The Live Letter teased high-end encounters and new systems across Patch 7.5 and the 7.5x series. A mysterious Ultimate Raid hint features Kefka.

Confirmed upcoming additions include Shinryu’s Domain Unreal Trial and The Occult Crescent: North Horn field zone.

  • Phantom Weapons relic line
  • Thavnair Ocean Fishing route
  • Auxesia and Tool Enhancement quests for Cosmic Exploration
  • Aunt Tii’s Tacos custom delivery
  • Inconceivably Further Hildibrand Adventures
  • Gold Saucer updates and new Allied Society capstone quests

System updates and quality-of-life changes

Patch 7.5 brings several convenience-focused improvements. Many aim to modernize long-standing UI and inventory systems.

  • Duty Support expands to The Dusk Vigil and Shisui of the Violent Tides.
  • More gear types gain Armoire storage.
  • Dyes consolidate into color groups; legacy dyes will be exchangeable.
  • Housing receives higher furnishing caps and new interior fixtures.
  • Sightseeing Log now shows required emotes and time/weather conditions.
  • Outfit Glamour will accept gear from patch 3.0 onward and allow individual piece removal.
  • Crafting gains greater flexibility while the crafting log is open.
  • Chocobo companions gain new animations and respond to Pet and Poke emotes.
