Edwards Urges Men’s First Team to Unite
Wolves manager Rob Edwards said the club’s defeat at Elland Road reflected their season. Leeds beat Wolves 3-0 after two quick first-half goals and a late penalty in added time.
First-half collapse
Wolves conceded twice inside two first-half minutes. Edwards said similar lapses happened the previous week. He blamed a string of individual errors at key moments for the collapse.
Fightback and contentious finish
The visitors rallied and created chances after going behind. Edwards noted a brilliant save by Darlow and a one-on-one opportunity for Rodrigo. An offside goal was disallowed and a late penalty made it 3-0, a decision Edwards disputed after reviewing the replays.
Injury concerns
Edwards revealed several fitness issues affected selection. Angel Gomes experienced pain under his foot and at his toe. Jose Sá suffered shoulder and back discomfort and felt too sore to start at the stadium.
Matěj Krejčí left with neck pain after what Edwards described as a whiplash injury. The manager said the squad carried on despite those setbacks.
Relegation battle and team message
With Premier League safety now highly unlikely, Edwards recognised the frustration among supporters. He rejected suggestions of a poor attitude in the squad and stressed effort remained high.
Edwards has urged unity across the men’s first team and asked players to stick together. Five league matches remain, and he insisted the team must keep fighting for better results.
