Riolu Hatch Day Guide for Pokémon GO’s Season of Memories in Motion

Event schedule

The event runs on April 18, 2026. It starts at 11 a.m. local time. It ends at 5 p.m. local time the same day.

Featured Pokémon and Eggs

Riolu headlines the event. Riolu is Lucario’s pre-evolution. The Hatch Day focuses on making Riolu easier to obtain from Eggs.

Normally, Riolu hatches from 10 km Eggs. During the event, Trainers will receive more 2 km Eggs from PokéStops. Spinning PokéStops during event hours increases 2 km Egg drops.

Core bonuses

Increased chance to hatch a Shiny Riolu.
Increased chance to receive 2 km Eggs from PokéStops.
2× Candy from hatching Eggs.
2× XP from hatching Eggs.
1/2 Egg hatch distance during the event.

These bonuses do not stack with other Pokémon GO event or GO Pass bonuses. A paid Timed Research ticket adds a 1/4 Egg hatch distance bonus. That bonus also does not stack with others.

Sustainability Week overlap

The Hatch Day coincides with Sustainability Week. That event brings additional encounter and hatch bonuses.

Different Pokémon appear more often on Routes during Sustainability Week.
Increased chance to encounter Shiny Lapras, Shiny Togetic, Shiny Castform, and Shiny Trubbish.
Increased chance to hatch Shiny Costumed Galarian Corsola and Shiny Castform.

Sustainability Week GO Pass benefits

Tier 1: 2× XP for spinning a PokéStop.
Tier 2: 1/2 Egg hatch distance when Eggs are placed in an Incubator.
GO Pass Deluxe Tier 1: 3× XP for spinning a PokéStop.

Season of Memories in Motion bonuses

Season bonuses run alongside the event. They reward consistent PokéStop and catch streaks.

Increased XP for a seven-day PokéStop spin streak.
Increased XP and Stardust for a seven-day Pokémon catch streak.
One extra Candy for in-person trades.
Trainers level 31+ receive one guaranteed Candy XL when trading in person.

GO Pass rank rewards

Rank-based GO Pass bonuses apply through Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at 10 a.m. local time.

Rank 25 (Tier 1): Open up to 40 Gifts daily and receive up to 125 Gifts daily.
Rank 25 adds 10 extra Gift slots in your Item Bag.
Rank 50 (Tier 2): 2× Daily Adventure Incense duration.
Rank 75 (Tier 3): Increased Stardust and XP from hatching Eggs.

If GO Pass Deluxe is purchased, Rank 25 unlocks enhanced rewards. These include 50 openable Gifts daily, 150 receivable Gifts, and 20 extra Gift slots.

Timed Research and tickets

A free, event-exclusive Timed Research will be available. Tasks and rewards will appear in-game during the event.

One example free task awards an Egg Incubator for hatching an Egg.

Paid Timed Research details

Trainers can purchase a Premium Timed Research ticket. The cost is US$1.99 or US$2.00 equivalent in other currencies. Tickets are nonrefundable, subject to terms and local law.

Paid ticket grants a 1/4 Egg hatch distance bonus during the event.
Rewards include items such as a Star Piece and Super Incubators.
Sample tasks: Explore 1 km and earn Stardust milestones for Super Incubators.
Sample completion rewards: 5,000 XP, 5,000 Stardust, and a Super Incubator.

Tickets can be gifted to Great Friends or higher. Gifted tickets are also nonrefundable. All Premium Timed Research rewards must be claimed before April 18, 2026 at 5 p.m. local time.

Event boxes and bundles

Daily bundles may appear in the Pokémon GO Web Store during the event. Filmogaz.com will list any special boxes once live.

An Ultra Ticket Box is available on the web store. It costs US$1.99 and has a purchase limit of one.
