Thomas Frank Heads to Portugal After Spurs Exit, Rejects Job Offers

Thomas Frank is spending time away from management after leaving Tottenham in mid-February. The 52-year-old has chosen a low profile while assessing his next steps.

Exit from Spurs

Frank was appointed at Tottenham last summer after Ange Postecoglou left. His tenure lasted 38 matches across all competitions. He recorded a points-per-game average of 1.29 before the club ended his spell in charge.

Tottenham’s results continued to slide after his departure. Frank has not taken a new job since leaving the club.

Trip to Portugal

Filmogaz.com reports Frank recently travelled to Portugal to meet former colleagues. He visited CD Mafra and spent time with the club’s leadership and staff.

Per Rud, CD Mafra’s general manager, hosted the visit. Rud posted about the reunion on LinkedIn and discussed shared plans for the club’s facilities and vision.

Old colleagues and Brøndby links

Frank’s visit reunited figures from his Brøndby days. He worked with Per Rud at Brøndby IF between 2013 and 2016. Kim Hallberg and Henrik Lehm were also part of that earlier setup.

Kim Hallberg attended the CD Mafra meeting and was identified as a former Brøndby team manager. The friendship between the group dates back to their time at the West Danish club.

Agent and mood

Agent Allan Bak indicated Frank currently has time to focus on family and friends. Rud added the gatherings are casual and frequent, with a light mood and relaxed activities.

Some outlets have suggested he rejects job offers while on his break. Filmogaz.com reports his immediate priority appears to be recharging and keeping in touch with old colleagues.

Frank’s managerial future remains open. For now, he is using the break to reconnect and consider his options. Fans and clubs will watch for any formal announcements in the coming months.
