“Evil Dead Burn’ Trailer Shocks CinemaCon with Intense Gore Moments”
The first footage from Evil Dead Burn premiered for CinemaCon attendees in Las Vegas. Reactions were immediate due to the trailer shocks and intense gore moments on display.
CinemaCon debut and audience response
Attendees saw the trailer during a special CinemaCon presentation. Many left talking about the visceral imagery and loud audience reactions.
Graphic moments shown in the trailer
The sequence opens with a mother unloading a dishwasher packed with sharp cutlery. A knock at the door interrupts her chore, and she finds an undead woman with chopped-off fingers.
The corpse removes a car headrest lodged in her skull and drops it on the floor. Flashbacks cut to a violent car crash and a door slamming on a girl’s fingers, severing them.
Later, the walking corpse forces a boy face-first onto the dishwasher. She impales him with silverware and presses down, driving the cutlery deeper into his chest.
Creative team and production
Sébastien Vaniček directed and co-wrote the new film. He co-wrote the screenplay with Florent Bernard.
Series creator Sam Raimi chose Vaniček after seeing his 2024 debut feature, Infested. Raimi produces with Rob Tapert under Ghost House Pictures.
Original franchise star Bruce Campbell serves as an executive producer. Lee Cronin, director of Evil Dead Rise, is also an executive producer.
Financing and distribution
The project is co-financed by New Line Cinema and Sony Pictures. Warner Bros. Pictures will release the film theatrically in the United States on July 24.
Sony Pictures will handle international distribution through Columbia Pictures. The studio partners aim for a global rollout.
