Rays Defeat White Sox 8-3, Eye Future Triumphs

Tampa Bay won on Jackie Robinson Day for the first time in 15 years. Players wore the light blue Burst jerseys for the first time.

Junior Caminero opened the scoring with a solo home run in the third inning. He added an RBI groundout in the fifth.

Jonathan Aranda drove in another run with a double in the fifth. Jake Fraley homered in the sixth to extend the lead.

In the seventh, Yandy Díaz produced an RBI double. Jonny DeLuca hit his second homer of the season later in the inning.

Jesse Scholtens earned the win. He worked five innings out of the bullpen.

Scholtens allowed one hit and struck out three while keeping the Pale Hose scoreless. Ian Seymour closed after Chicago rallied in the ninth.

Tampa Bay finished with an 8-3 victory. Chicago scored three runs in the ninth but could not complete a comeback.

The Rays improved to the best record in the American League. Tampa Bay’s 8-3 win over the White Sox leaves the team eyeing future triumphs.

The clubs meet again on Thursday. Steven Matz and Anthony Kay are the probable starters.
