The operator said it cannot meet delivery targets in 51 postcode areas today. Most affected sites are local delivery offices across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

How Royal Mail is responding
The company cited local challenges such as high sickness levels and resourcing problems. It said some delivery offices may not operate normally for a short period.
Royal Mail said it will rotate deliveries to reduce impact on individual customers. It also promised targeted support to those local offices.
Political comments and price changes
Owner Daniel Kretinsky told MPs he was sorry for late letters. He disputed claims that the delivery record had become catastrophic.
Stamp prices rose this month. First Class now costs £1.80 and Second Class costs 91p.
