Peter Andre Reveals Emotional Impact of Significant Family Change
Peter Andre has spoken candidly about how parenthood has reshaped his outlook. He described the emotional impact of a significant family change in recent years.
Family makeup
Andre is father to five children. Junior and Princess are from his relationship with Katie Price.
He and Dr Emily MacDonagh share Theo, Amelia and Arabella. He also maintains a bond with Katie’s eldest son, Harvey.
Shifts in parenting style
He says he initially echoed his own parents’ strict, religious approach. Over time his views softened.
He admitted the idea of Princess having a boyfriend once made him feel terrible. He added that you “soften as you get older.”
Having more children also changed his perspective. He wondered how different he might be when his youngest reaches her teens.
Wedding day emotions
Andre married Emily in July 2015. The ceremony took place in an Orangery with a classical quartet playing.
Processional music included Schubert’s “Ave Maria.” Junior served as a pageboy and Princess was a flower girl.
Joining Junior as pageboys were Emily’s ten-year-old brother, Joe, and Andre’s nephew, Savandy. Amelia also walked as a flower girl.
He said seeing his children walk down the aisle left him close to tears. A friend named George offered a reassuring squeeze of his shoulder.
Andre described Emily as the most beautiful bride he had ever seen. He noted her eyes were shimmering and he couldn’t help welling up.
Life as a single dad
Andre wrote that, as a single father, he wanted stability for his children. He avoided bringing a string of girlfriends home while they stayed with him.
He said he kept that part of his life separate until Emily entered his life. Their marriage changed the family dynamic.
Across interviews, Andre has been open about change. He continues to adapt as his family grows and evolves.
