Review: XMG Neo 16 (E25) with Oasis Water Cooler
XMG’s Neo 16 E25 brings the Intel option to the Neo 16 family. Filmogaz.com tested the machine to compare it with the AMD sibling. The chassis and many features remain identical.
Processor and platform
The laptop ships with the Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX. It packs 24 cores and 24 threads without Hyper-Threading. Peak clocks reach up to 5.4 GHz and cache is 36 MB.
The system uses the Intel HM870 chipset. Base power sits around 55 watts and above.
Cooling and performance
An external hybrid cooler, the OASIS, is compatible with the machine. That hybrid air-and-water solution raises sustained Arrow Lake frequencies. This can narrow the gaming gap with AMD at sub-4K resolutions.
Our Review: XMG Neo 16 (E25) with Oasis Water Cooler examined thermals and clock stability. The large internal thermal module also contributes to quieter long-term performance.
Graphics options
GPU choices start with an RTX 5070 Ti at up to 140 W. Higher-end SKUs include the RTX 5080 and RTX 5090 at up to 175 W.
- RTX 5070 Ti: 12 GB GDDR7, 140 W TGP.
- RTX 5080: 16 GB GDDR7, 175 W TGP.
- RTX 5090: 24 GB GDDR7, 175 W TGP.
Display, inputs and battery
The default panel is a 16.0-inch 2560×1600 IPS at 300 Hz. It targets around 500 nits and full sRGB coverage. An optional Mini LED variant offers higher peak brightness and 100% DCI-P3 color.
Input devices are premium. The keyboard features per-key RGB and N-key rollover. The precision glass touchpad uses integrated buttons.
Battery capacity measures 99.9 Wh. Bundled adapter power depends on GPU choice.
Connectivity and storage
Ports include one Thunderbolt 4 port with DP 2.1 and 140 W PD. Another Type-C supports DP 1.4a and 100 W PD. The system also offers HDMI 2.1 and Mini DisplayPort 2.1.
Other I/O highlights are a 2.5 GbE jack and a full-sized SD Express UHS-II reader. The board features a self-sealing connector for the external OASIS cooler.
Memory and drives
Dual SO-DIMM slots accept up to 128 GB of DDR5. Storage includes one PCIe 5.0 x4 M.2 and one PCIe 4.0 x4 M.2 slot.
Wireless, webcam and audio
Standard wireless is Wi‑Fi 6E with Bluetooth 5.1 or newer. Wi‑Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 are optional through the configurator. The webcam is 1080p IR for secure logins.
Audio uses dual speakers with Nahimic tuning by SteelSeries.
Dimensions, warranty and pricing
Weight varies by panel: about 2.65 kg with IPS and 2.80 kg with Mini LED. The device ships with a two-year warranty. Base pricing starts near €2,849.
