Corey Day Targets Eighth Consecutive Top 10 in Bristol NASCAR Qualifiers

Qualifying at Bristol Motor Speedway took place Saturday afternoon under clear skies. The session set the grid for the NASCAR O’Reilly Series event scheduled Saturday night.

Starting positions from qualifying

Corey Day will start 14th in the No. 17 HendrickCars.com Chevrolet. His lap time measured 15.853 seconds.

Kyle Larson will line up third in the No. 88 HendrickCars.com Chevy for JR Motorsports. Larson returns to the Saturday series after winning this event last year.

Practice form and recent results

Day posted the fastest practice averages for 10 and 15 laps. His 10-lap average was 15.89 seconds, and his 15-lap average was 15.98 seconds.

Last week at Rockingham Speedway, Day won the pole and led 118 laps. He swept both stages and finished 10th, extending his series-leading top-10 streak to seven.

Season momentum

That run has Day confident heading into Bristol. Corey Day targets an eighth consecutive top 10 in the Bristol NASCAR qualifiers and race.
