Shane Lowry Sets Record with Two Career Holes-in-One at Masters
In a historic moment at the Masters, Shane Lowry achieved a remarkable milestone by recording his second career hole-in-one. This achievement took place at the par-3 sixth hole, where he made an impressive 7-iron shot from 190 yards on Saturday.
Shane Lowry’s Incredible Hole-in-One
Lowry’s hole-in-one excitement mirrored his earlier success, as he celebrated in a similar fashion to his first ace at the par-3 16th hole during the final round of the Masters a decade ago. Celebrating his recent achievement, he said, “You don’t ever expect to make a hole-in-one. I just couldn’t believe it.”
Current Tournament Standing
With a score of 68, Lowry now stands 9 under for the tournament, placing him two shots behind leaders Rory McIlroy and Cameron Young. “It’s all about tomorrow,” Lowry noted, highlighting the importance of upcoming rounds.
Significance of the Achievement
This milestone at the Masters marks Lowry’s second ace in consecutive events. He had also made a hole-in-one during the Houston Open at Memorial Park using the same 7-iron. The recent hole-in-one at the Masters was the first since Stewart Cink’s ace on the 16th in 2022 and only the seventh on the challenging sixth hole, with the last one by Corey Conners in 2021.

Lowry humorously acknowledged his hole-in-one skills, stating, “Maybe I’m just good. I don’t know.” His performance is continuously raising the bar in golf’s prestigious tournaments.
