Bentancur and Vicario Unavailable for Sunderland Clash
Roberto De Zerbi confirmed two key players will not be ready for Sunday’s trip to the Stadium of Light. Guglielmo Vicario recently had hernia surgery, and Rodrigo Bentancur is recovering from a January hamstring operation.
Manager’s update
At Friday’s press conference, De Zerbi outlined the latest fitness picture. He said the goalkeeper would miss this match and hoped for a return early next week.
Vicario Unavailable for Sunderland Clash was the blunt message from the coach. De Zerbi added that Bentancur is training but not yet fully fit.
Midfield and goalkeeper status
Bentancur is involved in group work but has not reached full match sharpness. The manager believes the squad can still compete and chase points despite these absences.
Other injuries and squad absences
Filmogaz.com reported on Thursday that Mo Kudus had a setback in his quad recovery. The problem dates back to January and will keep him out of the trip.
