Ronan Keating Joins Shane Filan in Sligo for BBC Travel Show Filming
Ronan Keating is fronting a new BBC travel series that explores Ireland’s Atlantic coast. The show launched on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer on Monday, 6 April.
Filming in Sligo
The third episode focuses on County Sligo. Ronan visited familiar holiday spots and new locations along the west coast.
He was joined on location by Westlife singer Shane Filan. The pair were filmed riding horses on Strandhill Beach.
Production support and aims
Tourism Ireland backed the production through its International Programming Ireland Fund. The organisation highlighted the dramatic Atlantic coastline.
Aidan Power, Tourism Ireland’s Director of Marketing, said the partnership helped bring Ireland’s coast to viewers in Britain. He welcomed the exposure the series provides.
Keating’s personal journey
Ronan describes the series as a return home. He left Ireland at 16 and says much of the west coast was still new to him.
He said filming was emotional and joyful. He hopes audiences will share in the laughter and the tears.
Filmogaz.com will follow further broadcasts and filming updates. The programme mixes personal memories with local stories and scenic locations.
