Amazon Luna Halts Third-Party Game and Subscription Offers
Amazon has removed the option to buy individual games and third-party subscriptions through its Luna cloud streaming service. The move affects purchases made via linked EA, Ubisoft and GOG storefronts.
Filmogaz.com notes the change took effect on April 10, 2026. The company says it will concentrate on Luna Standard and Luna Premium subscriptions.
Amazon Luna Halts Third-Party Game and Subscription Offers was the core message in emails sent to some subscribers. The emails explained the transition and included timelines for existing content.
What changed and when
As of April 10, 2026, Luna no longer lists game stores or offers individual game purchases. Third-party subscription sales through the platform have also ended.
The storefronts for EA, Ubisoft and GOG were removed from the Luna interface. Users can no longer buy or stream new titles from those stores via Luna.
Stores and subscriptions affected
- EA store purchases linked to Luna are affected.
- Ubisoft store access through Luna has been removed.
- GOG titles can no longer be bought or streamed via Luna.
- Subscriptions sold through Luna, including Ubisoft+ and Jackbox Games, are no longer available.
Access to already purchased games
Players who bought games through Luna can keep streaming them until June 10, 2026. After that date, Luna will stop supporting those titles.
Games redeemed on EA, Ubisoft or GOG will remain playable on those original platforms. The Bring Your Own Library feature will also end support from June 10.
Subscriptions and refunds
Subscriptions that were purchased through Luna will be cancelled at the subscriber’s next billing cycle. Affected users must re-subscribe directly with the third-party providers.
Amazon said some players will qualify for a complimentary Luna Premium membership. The company will contact eligible customers on or after June 10 with claim instructions.
Amazon’s strategy and new features
Amazon stated the change reflects a focus on Luna Standard and Luna Premium offerings. The company said it will continue delivering first-party and selected third-party titles via those plans.
Last October, Amazon relaunched Luna with a redesigned interface and new features. The refresh introduced GameNight, a collection of roughly 30 party games.
GameNight allows casual players to use a smartphone as a controller. No app download is required for that functionality.
What players should do now
Check your email for details about cancellations and any promotional offers. Note the June 10 deadline for streaming games bought through Luna.
If you relied on Luna for Ubisoft+ or Jackbox access, plan to resubscribe on those publishers’ sites. Consider redeeming purchased keys on the original storefronts to preserve access.
