Prince Harry Faces Libel Lawsuit from Former Charity Sentebale, Court Records Reveal
Court records filed in London show that Sentebale has brought a defamation claim against Prince Harry. The filing names the prince and a former trustee, Mark Dyer, as defendants.
Origins of the charity
Prince Harry and Prince Seeiso of Lesotho co-founded Sentebale in 2006. The charity supports young people with HIV and AIDS in Lesotho and Botswana.
The name Sentebale translates as “forget-me-not” in the local language. Harry helped launch the charity nine years after his mother, Princess Diana, died.
Breakdown in relations
Harry resigned as a patron in March 2025 after a public falling-out with the board chair, Sophie Chandauka. Prince Seeiso and the charity’s trustees also departed.
Chandauka reported Harry and trustees to Britain’s charity regulator, alleging bullying and harassment. The Charity Commission found no evidence of bullying.
The regulator did highlight weak governance. It criticised all parties for allowing the dispute to become public.
