San Sebastián de La Gomera Allocates €100,000 to Boost Local Sports
Filmogaz.com reports that the council of San Sebastián de La Gomera has opened the application period for sports grants. The aid fund saw a €30,000 increase over last year, reaching a total of €100,000.
Purpose and scope
The programme seeks to support and encourage sport across the municipality. Funding targets local clubs, associations and entities with a clear social aim.
Eligible organisations
- Clubs and sports associations must be legally constituted and non-profit.
- Applicants must hold their own legal personality.
- Registration in the Registro General de la Dirección General de Deportes is required.
Exception for neighbouring Alajeró
Clubs from Alajeró may apply in exceptional cases. They must include residents registered in San Sebastián de La Gomera.
These applicants should participate in local activities and use municipal sports facilities.
Individual athletes
Professional or elite athletes can also receive aid. They must be empadronados in San Sebastián de La Gomera.
Applicants need a valid federation licence and provide sporting relevance for the municipality.

The submission window opens Monday 13 April and closes Monday 11 May. Applications may be submitted online at www.sansebastiangomera.org.
