Gardaí to Update on Liam Farrell Death Investigation
Gardaí are scheduled to give an update today on the investigation into the death of Liam Farrell. Mr Farrell was 87 when he died. He was found unresponsive at the back door of his home in County Leitrim in January 2020.
Medical finding and initial inquiry
His cause of death was recorded as a heart attack. The original inquiry took place shortly after his discovery.
Family concerns
Relatives say he had bruising and was covered in blood when found. They also report he was without shoes or socks.
Official review and next steps
A review of the initial investigation was ordered last year by Garda Commissioner Justin Kelly. As part of that review, it is understood Mr Farrell’s body is to be exhumed.
