Fred Couples Aims for Masters Cut After Discussing Tiger Woods’ Concerns

Between 2010 and 2018 he made seven cuts in eight starts. Six of those results were top-20 finishes or better. He withdrew in 2016 because of back issues. That withdrawal was his first missed event since 1994.
Recent form
Since 2019, Couples has made the cut only once. That came in 2023, when he finished tied for 50th. He missed the weekend in six other appearances during that span.
In 2025 he missed the cut by two strokes. He was four-over-par after the first two rounds. The 2024 event was tougher. He shot 12-over and missed by six strokes.
2026 outlook and betting context
Couples enters the 2026 field with odds of +370 to make the cut. Those are the fifth-longest odds in the field. He shares that price with 2000 champion Vijay Singh.
Only José María Olazábal (+850), Brandon Holtz (+420), Mateo Pulcini (+420), and Mike Weir (+420) carry longer odds. The numbers suggest an outside chance for Couples to reach the weekend. He is not seen as a contender for the Green Jacket.
