Social Security Payment Recipients Announced for April 8

Social Security payment recipients born between the 1st and 10th of the month will receive their monthly benefit on Wednesday, April 8. The April payments follow the Social Security Administration’s regular disbursement timetable.

Who is paid on April 8

Recipients born on days 1 through 10 receive benefits on the second Wednesday of the month. Those beneficiaries should see payments on April 8 based on the SSA calendar.

Standard payment schedule

Social Security retirement and disability benefits are generally paid on Wednesdays. Birthdate determines which Wednesday a recipient is paid.

  • Birthdays on the 1st–10th: payment on the second Wednesday.
  • Birthdays on the 11th–20th: payment on the third Wednesday.
  • Birthdays after the 20th: payment on the fourth Wednesday.

Special rules and combined benefits

People who began receiving Social Security before May 1997 typically receive payments on the third day of each month. If the date falls on a weekend or holiday, payment timing may adjust.

Individuals receiving both Social Security and Supplemental Security Income get Social Security on the third day. Their SSI payment arrives on the first day of the month.

Supplemental Security Income schedule

SSI is intended for people with limited income and resources. Eligible groups include adults 65 or older, blind people, and those with qualifying disabilities. Children with qualifying disabilities may also qualify for SSI.

SSI payments are generally issued on the first business day of each month.
