Background and selection

For the 2026 PSL, Hyderabad Kingsmen picked Sharjeel. Hyderabad is one of two new teams this season, alongside Rawalpindiz. The Kingsmen brought him into the side after two opening losses.

Boundaries were scarce for the next three overs. Sharjeel was 22 from 16 balls when the 18th over began. Shehzad Gul opened that over with a high full-toss no-ball, which Sharjeel smashed over fine leg for six.

He followed with a six on the free hit. Another full-toss yielded a four, and the subsequent free hit went for six over deep mid-wicket. Sharjeel lofted the final delivery over mid-off for four. He took 27 runs from that over, which registered 30 in total because of the no-ball.

Sharjeel reached 49 off 23 balls. Two singles took him to an unbeaten 51 off 26 deliveries. His late flourish helped Hyderabad post a commanding total.
