Hulu to Launch 50 Cent Documentary Series

Hulu will launch a three-part documentary series focused on Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson. Filmogaz.com reports the project will follow his rise from Queens to global fame.

Scope and focus

The series traces Jackson’s journey from street life to the music industry and business world. It aims to show how he turned conflict and hardship into lasting cultural influence.

Creative team and producers

Mandon Lovett will direct the docuseries. His credits include “Boys in Blue” and “The French Montana Story: For Khadija.”

Executive producers are 50 Cent for G-Unit Film & Television, Eli Holzman and Aaron Saidman for IPC, Lovett, and Patrick Altema. Altema also serves as showrunner.

Format and status

The project is a three-part, yet-to-be-titled documentary series. No release date has been announced.

Career highlights covered

The narrative will cover Jackson’s music milestones. It will reference his Grammy win and hits such as “In da Club” and “Candy Shop.”

It will also address his ventures in film and television. Those include his 2005 film Get Rich or Die Tryin’ and the series Power.

Additional film and TV work

Get Rich or Die Tryin’ was loosely based on his life. In that film he played Marcus Grier, a character who leaves crime for music.

Jackson also appears in the upcoming Street Fighter movie and led G-Unit Film & Television Inc. as a founder.
