New 98-Room Hotel to Transform North Bay Landscape
A major hospitality initiative is set to transform North Bay’s lodging landscape. Eastview Development Limited has announced plans to construct a new Hyatt Studios hotel in the area. The proposed facility will have 98 rooms specifically designed for extended stays.
Hyatt Studios: A New Accommodation Option
The new hotel will be located at the intersection of Gormanville Road and Eloy Road, in proximity to essential local amenities such as the hospital, Nipissing University, and Canadore College. This strategic placement aims to attract various travelers, including business professionals and families visiting the area.
John Lechlitner, a representative from Eastview Development Limited, expressed enthusiasm for the project. “There’s been a clear need for more extended-stay options in North Bay, and bringing Hyatt Studios here helps fill that gap,” Lechlitner remarked. He noted that the estimated construction cost will exceed $20 million.
Key Features of Hyatt Studios
The proposed Hyatt Studios hotel will offer a range of amenities tailored for guests staying for weeks instead of days. Each suite will feature kitchens, allowing for a more home-like experience. Additional amenities include:
- 24/7 Market
- Complimentary Grab ‘n’ Go Breakfast
- High-speed internet access
- Electric vehicle (EV) charging stations
- 24/7 Fitness Studio
- Self-service laundry
- Outdoor patio with a fire pit and grill
This design caters to a growing demand for quality accommodations. Extended-stay customers often include business travelers and families, making the location ideal for such a facility.
Research and Market Demand
A feasibility study was conducted before moving forward with the project. The findings indicated a significant demand for extended-stay options within the region. Lechlitner highlighted that many local hotel chains, such as Hilton and Marriott, have maintained high occupancy rates even during challenging times, underscoring the potential success of Hyatt Studios.
Lechlitner also mentioned that Hyatt’s target demographic includes World of Hyatt loyalty program members, who often seek out their preferred brand. This strategy is aimed at fulfilling the needs of travelers looking for reliable and comfortable accommodation.
As North Bay continues to grow, the Hyatt Studios hotel is positioned to enhance the local hospitality landscape. This project not only responds to immediate needs but also sets the stage for future developments in the area, including planned expansions to Sudbury and Timmins.
