ITV Reschedules Coronation Street and Emmerdale: When to Watch Next

ITV Reschedules Coronation Street and Emmerdale: When to Watch Next

ITV has altered its evening schedule for Tuesday 31 March. The changes affect the channel’s two nightly soaps.

Why the change happened

The England friendly against Japan at Wembley triggers the reshuffle. Kick-off is at 7pm and coverage runs until 10.05pm.

Both Coronation Street and Emmerdale were removed from their usual Tuesday slots. The broadcaster moved them to avoid clashing with the match.

New broadcast times this week

Both soaps normally air for 30 minutes each weeknight. Emmerdale usually screens at 8pm, followed by Coronation Street at 8.30pm.

Tuesday’s episodes will now air on Sunday. Emmerdale is scheduled for 7pm on ITV that day. Coronation Street follows at 7.30pm.

Plot highlight

This week’s episodes include a tense scene. Theo Silverton, played by James Cartwright, slips drugs into Todd Grimshaw’s drink. Todd is portrayed by Gareth Pierce.

Midweek and Friday scheduling

Wednesday’s installments return at their normal times. Viewers can expect no disruption then.

On Thursday both soaps move half an hour earlier. Emmerdale airs at 7.30pm and Coronation Street at 8pm.

ITV will show a Vera repeat from 8.30pm to 10.25pm on Thursday. A further Vera repeat at the same time on Friday keeps the soaps in their earlier slots.
