Weather stoppage
Play was suspended at 4:55pm local time. The delay had already stretched to about six hours before that decision.
Tournament officials cited unsafe conditions and forecast concerns. Play will resume on Sunday when conditions allow.
Lead and momentum shifts
Robert MacIntyre began the day with a strong advantage. His earlier rounds were 66 and 64.
MacIntyre carded a birdie at the par-four fifth to move to 15 under. Playing partner Ludvig Åberg birdied the first two holes and matched MacIntyre at five.
The pairing reduced the cushion on the leader. MacIntyre’s Lead Narrows as Åberg cut the lead from four shots to two through six holes.
Other contenders
- Matt Wallace used two eagles to climb into a share of third. He was seven under through 14 holes.
- Ryo Hisatsune sat at 11 under after his round. He remained in contention near the top.
- Marco Penge birdied six straight holes to surge up the leaderboard. He reached a share of fifth at 10 under.
