About Peter DeBoer
Peter DeBoer is 57 years old. He most recently coached the Dallas Stars from 2022-23 through 2024-25.
In Dallas he compiled a 149-68-29 record. He took the Stars to the Western Conference Final in each of those three seasons.

DeBoer owns a 662-447-152 record across 1,261 NHL games as a head coach. He has led five different NHL clubs.
Those stops include the New Jersey Devils, San Jose Sharks, Vegas Golden Knights, Florida Panthers, and Dallas Stars. He reached the Stanley Cup Final twice.
DeBoer’s Finals appearances came in 2012 with New Jersey and 2016 with San Jose. He holds a perfect 9-0 record in Game 7s.
International work
DeBoer served as an assistant coach for Team Canada in recent international tournaments. He worked the Four Nations Face-Off in 2025 and Milano Cortina 2026.
Patrick Roy’s tenure
Patrick Roy, 60, finished his third season as Islanders head coach. He posted a 97-78-22 record in 197 games with the club.
