Yes Delays European Tour as Steve Howe Undergoes Essential Surgery
The iconic progressive rock band Yes has announced the postponement of their upcoming European tour. The 11-date Fragile tour has been affected due to guitarist Steve Howe requiring essential surgery, which necessitates recovery time. The decision was made to ensure Howe returns to the stage in optimal health for the performances fans expect and deserve.
Tour Details and Rescheduling
The Fragile tour was originally set to commence on April 22, 2024, in Glasgow. It aimed to deliver a complete performance of their legendary 1971 album, Fragile. The band is actively working to reschedule the UK and EU shows for later dates, with new details expected to be announced after Easter. Fans are advised to retain their tickets, as they will be valid for the rescheduled shows. Other tour dates planned for later in 2026 are set to proceed as scheduled.
Current Band Lineup
- Steve Howe – Guitarist
- Jon Davison – Singer
- Billy Sherwood – Bassist
- Jay Schellan – Drummer
- Geoff Downes – Keyboardist
Steve Howe is the last remaining member of the original Fragile lineup currently in the band. The current lineup also includes Geoff Downes, a member of the Buggles, who rejoined Yes in 2011 after a brief period in the 1980s.
Future Projects
While Yes navigates these changes, they are preparing to release a new album. Jon Davison confirmed that the project is completed and scheduled for release in July 2024. The band is finalizing the album sleeve and artwork with artist Roger Dean.
Jon Anderson’s Solo Efforts
Jon Anderson, Yes’s original lead singer, has not performed alongside Howe since 2004. Despite hopes for a reunion, Howe has indicated that such an occurrence is unlikely due to creative differences. Anderson, however, continues to carry the Yes legacy through various projects.
