Harm’s Way Guitarist and Podcaster Bo Lueders Passes Away at 38

Bo Lueders, the talented guitarist from the hardcore band Harm’s Way, has tragically passed away at the age of 38. His death was announced on April 2 by both the band and the HardLore podcast, which he co-hosted. They shared heartfelt messages about his empathy and compassion, along with resources for those struggling with mental health issues.

Early Life and Musical Beginnings

Lueders was raised in the Chicago metropolitan area. He attended school in Roselle, where he forged a significant friendship with Christopher Mills, the drummer of Harm’s Way. Lueders began playing guitar at the age of 10 and quickly developed a passion for hardcore music, influenced by bands like Blink-182 and NOFX.

Contributions to Hardcore Music

Before joining Harm’s Way, Lueders co-founded a band called Double Crossed with Mills, immersing himself in Chicago’s vibrant hardcore scene, especially within the straight-edge community. Reflecting on his experiences, he once remarked that he never encountered negativity within this community, a sentiment he cherished deeply.

Lueders played a pivotal role in forming Few and the Proud, which later evolved into Convicted and ultimately Harm’s Way. The band’s sound transitioned from power violence to a hardcore punk style that incorporated various metal influences over several albums.
