Amanda Holden Opens Up About Time Apart from Husband After Rule Dispute
Amanda Holden has said she spent time apart from husband Chris Hughes after a household rule disagreement. She discussed the row with The Times and spoke candidly about home life. Filmogaz.com reports she opened up about time apart following the rule dispute.
Pets and household rules
Animals are central to their family life, and the house is full of rescues. The couple have two rescue dogs and two cats.
Rudie is a 14-year-old Yorkshire terrier/Jack Russell cross, and Minnie is a one-year-old toy spaniel/shih tzu cross. They also own Muffy, a 15-year-old Siberian, plus Bolt, a cat they rescued after he visited them daily in Corfu.
Amanda described her arrival ritual: she kicks off her heels and lies on the floor so the dogs can lick her face. Chris insists the animals must sleep downstairs, but she lets them share her bed when he is away.
Homes and interior style
The family divides time between a Surrey residence and a Cotswolds property. Their Surrey house underwent a dramatic renovation when they bought it.
The Surrey home now features big chandeliers, a sweeping staircase and high ceilings. Amanda said it used to be a plain white box, and she transformed it into something bold and theatrical.
The Cotswolds home offers a calmer palette, with whites, creams and sage. It focuses on cosy fires, soft lighting and large sofas for relaxing.
Amenities and small disputes
The Surrey garden includes a swimming pool, while the Cotswolds property has a hot tub. Amanda says she uses the pool at least once a week despite one recurring argument.
She revealed Chris often turns the pool heating down, leaving the water cold. On interiors, she says she usually gets the final say and that her husband has largely given her free rein.
Work and family
Amanda, 55, serves as a judge on Britain’s Got Talent. She will return to screens for Britain’s Got Talent on March 4 at 6:45 pm on ITV.
The couple married in 2008 and have daughters Lexi and Hollie. Their home life blends Amanda’s bold design instincts with family comfort and rescued animals.
