Free Update Enhances PlayStation Plus Essential Game Experience

Filmogaz.com reports PlayStation Plus revealed its April 2026 Essential line-up this week. The pack includes three games arriving on 7 April.

Monthly selection

The standout is Tomb Raider I-III Remastered Starring Lara Croft. It bundles the first three PlayStation Lara Croft adventures with modernized controls and a visual overhaul.

Lords of the Fallen is the other major inclusion. The soulslike is less punishing than genre leaders, making it more accessible for many players.

Sword Art Online: Fractured Daydream completes the trio. Critics view it as the weakest of the three additions.

Co-op update for Lords of the Fallen

A free update enhances the PlayStation Plus Essential game experience for Lords of the Fallen. Bandai Namco announced the “CO-OP Update” on the game’s official X account.

The change allows visiting co-op partners, or “Lampbearers,” to perform actions once limited to the host. The patch also improves multiplayer stability.

  • Upgrade weapons and equipment
  • Socket upgrade items
  • Interact with vendors
  • Use Chrysalis Rebirth
  • Rest and warp between Vestiges
  • Plant Vestige seeds
  • Begin boss battles

Version and availability

The co-op improvements apply to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions only. Some confusion arose over which version would appear in PlayStation Plus.

Bandai Namco confirmed the up-to-date edition is the one joining the Essential line-up. All three titles will be free to download on 7 April.
