Status updates

Bruins defenseman Mason Lohrei skated with the team Wednesday. He remains day-to-day after missing two games.

Panthers defenseman Aaron Ekblad suffered a broken finger blocking a shot late in the third period. The injury occurred in Florida’s 6-3 win over Ottawa on Tuesday. Ekblad may be out for the remainder of the season.

Dmitry Kulikov broke his nose on a deflected shot in the same game. He will not play in the upcoming matchup. Coach Paul Maurice said Kulikov and forward Cole Schwindt could return during the back-to-back at Pittsburgh on Saturday and Sunday.

Florida recalled Mikulas Hovorka and Tobias Bjornfot from Charlotte of the American Hockey League on Wednesday. Those call-ups fill roster gaps caused by recent injuries.
