New Mexico Faces Tulsa in NIT Semifinals at Hinkle Fieldhouse
The New Mexico men’s basketball team travels to Indianapolis this week for the NIT semifinals and finals. They meet Tulsa on Thursday at historic Hinkle Fieldhouse, located on Butler University’s campus.

Team backgrounds
New Mexico enters the semifinal with a 26-10 record. This marks the third NIT semifinal appearance in program history.
The Lobos previously reached the final stages in 1964 and 1990. In 1964 they finished as runner-up, and in 1990 they placed fourth.
Tulsa comes in at 29-7. The Golden Hurricane also make their third NIT semifinal appearance.
Tulsa won the tournament in 1981 and 2001. They advanced to Indianapolis with three home victories.
Paths to Indianapolis
New Mexico advanced with home wins over Sam Houston, George Washington, and Saint Joseph’s. Those victories delivered the Lobos to the semifinal round.
Tulsa moved on after home wins against Stephen F. Austin, UNLV, and Wichita State. The Golden Hurricane earned their spot the same way.
What’s next
The winner of New Mexico and Tulsa will advance to the NIT final on April 5. The title game will be at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
The championship will start at 6:00 p.m. Mountain Time. ESPN2 will televise the final between the semifinal winners.
