Veteran television presenter Michaela Strachan has fronted the BBC’s flagship nature programme for 14 years. She first made her name on The Really Wild Show and Wide Awake Club.

She finished as runner-up on ITV’s Dancing on Ice last year. Her professional partner on the show was Mark Hanretty.

Not Just a Wild Life tour

Strachan described a vast collection of footage stored in her garage. Much of it remains on old VHS tapes and requires careful review.

Choosing which material to use proved difficult. She called selecting highlights from a long career the hardest part.
