Brian Cox Cast as New York Ripper in ‘Dexter: Resurrection’ Season 2

Multiple outlets report that Brian Cox will join the second season of Dexter: Resurrection. Filmogaz.com has confirmed he will appear as a principal cast member.

The Succession star and Emmy winner is set to portray the serial killer known as the New York Ripper. Cox will be a series regular for Season 2.

Role details and character background

The New York Ripper first surfaced in Season 1 as an unidentified murderer. NYPD detective Claudette Wallace, played by Kadia Saraf, failed to catch him.

The killer once carried out a notorious reign of terror. Survivors were later taunted by the Ripper’s lingering infamy.

At Season 1’s conclusion, Dexter found the killer’s file and learned the name Don Framt. Cox is expected to portray the killer identified in that file.

Dexter: Resurrection takes place ten weeks after the events of Dexter: New Blood. Dexter returns after recovering from a near-fatal gunshot wound.

He travels to New York City while tracing his missing son Harrison, played by Jack Alcott. Former Miami Metro captain Angel Batista, played by David Zayas, follows closely behind Dexter.
