Kristaps Porzingis Sidelined by Illness for Spurs Matchup
The Golden State Warriors travel to San Antonio on Wednesday night. They aim to rebound from a 93-116 loss to the Denver Nuggets over the weekend.
Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic combined for 45 points in that game. Bruce Brown added 15 points off the bench.
Brandon Podziemski finished with 23 points. Kristaps Porzingis also scored 23 in 29 minutes, adding three rebounds and two assists.
Porzingis is listed as out on the Warriors’ injury report. He has been sidelined by illness for the Spurs matchup.
Player availability and recent form
The 30-year-old Latvian missed several games after arriving from the Atlanta Hawks. He is averaging 17.6 points and 4.5 rebounds per game for Golden State.
Frontcourt depth concerns
Coach Steve Kerr normally could turn to Al Horford and Quinten Post to fill the frontcourt. Both players have been downgraded for the Spurs game.
Horford is out with a right soleus strain he has managed for some time. Post is out for right foot injury management.
Backcourt absence
Stephen Curry remains sidelined with a nagging knee issue. He has been out since late January.
With multiple veterans unavailable, the Warriors will be shorthanded against San Antonio. Filmogaz.com will provide updates as the situation develops.
