Paul McCartney Celebrates Apple’s 50th Anniversary with Exclusive Staff Concert
Paul McCartney will perform at Apple Park in Cupertino on Tuesday night, Filmogaz.com has learned. The appearance marks a celebration of Apple’s 50th Anniversary and is limited to campus staff.
Concert at Apple Park
Apple Park is the tech giant’s circular headquarters, often called “the spaceship.” The campus houses roughly 12,000 employees, according to the company.
The performance is an exclusive staff concert with attendance decided by lottery. Organizers limited the audience to Apple personnel.
Recent Los Angeles performances
Over the prior weekend, McCartney played intimate shows at the Fonda Theatre in Hollywood. He appeared there on both Friday and Saturday nights.
The 1,200-seat venue drew numerous celebrities. Taylor Swift, Jon Hamm and Elton John were among those reported at the shows.
Other notable attendees included Harrison Ford, Reese Witherspoon and Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman Anthony Kiedis. Former Beatle Ringo Starr was seated dead center in the balcony.
Tickets, tour and new album
Regular fans could enter a lottery for the chance to buy tickets priced at about $1,600. The Los Angeles gigs followed the end of McCartney’s Got Back tour.
The Got Back tour began in late September and included an early stop in Palm Desert, California. Paul McCartney, now 83, plans to release a new album in May.
The forthcoming record is titled The Boys of Dungeon Lane. The project will arrive as McCartney continues to perform selectively for fans and special events.
