“First Impressions of Guardians Dominate Discussion”

Offensive trends vs. four-seam fastballs

Pitching: strikeouts good, walks worrying

Cleveland produced plenty of strikeouts. The team finished fifth in MLB with an 11.31 K/9 rate.

Walks have been a major issue. The Guardians ranked 27th with a 5.40 BB/9 rate.

The pitching staff also gave up a lot of hard contact. Cleveland sat 27th in xERA, which compounds the walk problem.
