Police Identify Body Found in Detroit River as Missing Wyandotte Man

Police recovered a body from the Detroit River on Monday afternoon. Authorities say the remains are believed to be a missing Wyandotte man.

Recovery and preliminary identification

The recovery occurred at about 1 p.m. on March 30. Wyandotte officers assisted a neighboring Downriver agency during the operation.

Investigators reported the clothing and physical description matched Tyler Bojanowski. Police said the body found in the Detroit River aligns with reports of the missing Wyandotte man.

Positive identification awaits confirmation from the Wayne County Medical Examiner’s Office. Wyandotte detectives have notified Bojanowski’s family.

Missing-person details and prior evidence

Bojanowski was last seen about 2:30 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 5. Witnesses placed him near the pink Best Western in Allen Park.

His pickup truck was later located on Enterprise Drive in Allen Park. That spot sits near the Best Western Greenfield Inn off I‑94.

The family reported his passport was recovered at John Dingell Park in Ecorse on Friday, Feb. 6. His mother, Nicole Dillon, said he recently suffered a traumatic brain injury.
