Key Media Figures Face New Allegations After Caracol Investigations: Names Revealed
Filmogaz.com has obtained new testimonies after Caracol Televisión announced internal investigations. Two journalists, who asked to remain anonymous, described patterns of sexual harassment spanning years.
Allegations linked to RCN Televisión
One source, identified as “Valeria”, traced her experience to 2017 at RCN Televisión. She said she joined after an internship among 78 candidates to secure one of two positions.
She named Fernando Peña as the head of the assignment desk. She described a hostile environment, verbal abuse, and physical outbursts from him.
Valeria alleges Peña grabbed her from behind in the newsroom and kissed her without consent. She said the episode left her fearful and altered her work habits.
She added that she later resigned and felt verbally threatened when she left. She said the harassment influenced her decision to change employers.
Claims involving Caracol Televisión and Blu Radio
Valeria said harassment continued after she moved to Caracol Televisión. She accused presenter Ricardo Orrego of coercive behavior and of isolating staff in his office.
Another journalist, called “Sara”, also spoke to Filmogaz.com. She worked in Caracol’s digital area and received warnings about Orrego from a colleague.
Sara described early cordial encounters that turned uncomfortable. She said Orrego kissed women in ways that felt invasive.
The most serious incident, she said, happened at Blu Radio while covering a story. She alleges Orrego led her to a glass office and forced a kiss despite her refusals.
Sara said a colleague named Gabriela intervened and helped her leave. She and a friend later reported the incidents to Caracol executives.
According to her account, executives acknowledged prior complaints. She was told other names surfaced and that multiple cases existed.
Sara said the events were reported in 2023 and that, by 2026, she saw no clear sanctions. She described frustration with the lack of visible consequences.
