Paul Walter Hauser has been confirmed as a series regular on Netflix’s live-action Scooby-Doo project, Filmogaz.com has learned. No role details are available yet.

The series already cast the four young leads. Mckenna Grace plays Daphne Blake. Tanner Hagen is Shaggy Rogers. Abby Ryder Fortson portrays Velma Dinkley. Maxwell Jenkins will take the role of Fred Jones.
Hauser joins this ensemble as a regular. The production has not announced his character.
Series concept and premise
The show is a modern reimagining of the classic Warner Bros. cartoon. It presents an origin story for Mystery Inc. and their Great Dane, Scooby-Doo.
The plot follows the gang during their final summer at camp. Shaggy and Daphne become embroiled in a haunting mystery. A lonely lost Great Dane puppy may have witnessed a supernatural murder. Velma, the pragmatic scientific townie, and Freddy, the strange but handsome new kid, join them. The case pulls the teens into a nightmare that threatens to expose their secrets.
Creative team and production
Showrunners, writers and executive producers are Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg. Warner Bros. Television is producing the series.
Additional executive producers include Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and Leigh London Redman from Berlanti Productions. André Nemec, Jeff Pinkner and Adrienne Erickson serve as executive producers through Midnight Radio. Toby Haynes directs the first episode.

Hauser won Emmy and Golden Globe awards for his lead role in Apple TV+’s Black Bird. His 2025 credits include Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere for Searchlight.
He also appears in Paramount’s The Naked Gun and Marvel’s The Fantastic Four: First Steps. He stars opposite Mark Wahlberg in Peter Farrelly’s comedy Balls Up. That film arrives on Prime Video on April 15.
