“Beyond Paradise Star Launches New Community Centre in Looe”
Beyond Paradise star Zahra Ahmadi returned to Looe on Thursday, March 19 to help open a new community centre. The Meeting Place is run by local charity Boundless Trust.
Opening ceremony
The ribbon was cut after short speeches from Looe town mayor Stephen Remington and Boundless Trust co-chair Barney Barron. Guests enjoyed pasties and scones supplied by Sarah’s Pasties while speaking with organisers.
Services on offer
The Meeting Place operates as a welcome space and community larder three times each week. It also hosts community cooking sessions and serves as a hub for Liskeard and Looe Foodbank.

Boundless Trust’s expansion
January marked five years since Boundless Trust began work locally. The charity expanded from its youth centre, the Haven, by opening this dedicated space.
Community coordinator Sara Barron highlighted the need for welcoming places. She said the Meeting Place aims to reduce isolation and help people facing homelessness and food poverty.
Local links and support
Looe is the principal filming location for the fictional Shipton Abbot in Beyond Paradise. Zahra Ahmadi plays DS Esther Williams, alongside Kris Marshall, Sally Bretton, Dylan Llewellyn and Felicity Montagu.
The project received direct backing from Looe Town Council. Mayor Stephen Remington praised Boundless Trust and expressed hope for closer partnership to meet community needs.
