Family Heartbroken After Devastating Trading Card Shop Burglary

Matthew and Nicola Harmel run Picklestix TCG in Fisher’s Yard, St Neots. On March 23 their small trading card shop was burgled.

Details of the break-in

CCTV footage shows a person smashing a window to gain entry. The footage also shows the intruder standing on the till before cutting power to the cameras.

The till was emptied during the incident. A rare booster box, valued at about £1,000, was taken.

  • Cash removed from the till.
  • Most single high-value cards taken.
  • Customer cards were also seized.
  • Physical damage, including a smashed window and cut barbed wire.

Family and community impact

The couple describe the event as devastating. They say the theft has left them thousands of pounds out of pocket.

Picklestix TCG is a family-run business and a hub for Pokémon fans. The Harmels, who have three children, call the shop a safe community space.

The family say they are heartbroken and grateful for local support. Friends and customers have rallied to help the business recover.
