Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Concludes with Stunning MAPPA Masterpiece
Jujutsu Kaisen’s third season concludes in a stunning display that highlights MAPPA’s strengths. The finale episode, “Sendai Colony,” serves as a visual and narrative peak.

Finale overview
The episode centers on Yuta Okkotsu breaking a deadlock in Sendai Colony. He faces three reincarnated Heian-era sorcerers in rapid succession.
Within the episode timeline, at November 12, 11:28 AM, Yuta kills sorcerer Dhruv Lakdawalla. He then attempts to move civilians to a supposedly safe base.
Kurourushi and the insect swarm
A swarm of insects suddenly attacks and devours two survivors. The source is revealed as Kurourushi, a special grade cockroach curse and Culling Game contestant.
Yuta uses Rika’s cursed spirit and his katana charged with cursed energy. He disarms Kurourushi and delivers the final blow using his Reverse Cursed Technique.
The three-way battle
Takako Uro ambushes Yuta with Sky Manipulation. The attack distorts space and gravity and forces the pair into an art gallery.
Ryu Ishigori intervenes with Granite Blast, scattering the combatants. The three then unleash simultaneous Domain Expansions in a sequence lifted faithfully from the manga.
Direction, adaptation, and visuals
Shōta Goshozono’s direction and storyboarding shaped the episode’s creative identity. He favored artistic freedom over strict 1:1 recreation of the source material.
MAPPA translated Gege Akutami’s vivid manga panels into fluid animation. The result is a show-stopping sequence that many will call a masterpiece.
Character stakes and themes
The episode foregrounds Yuta’s burden and sense of duty. He aims to accumulate points so Yuji Itadori or Megumi Fushiguro can alter Culling Game rules.
Yuta refuses to let Satoru Gojo kill his friend a second time. The antagonist Kenjaku is using Suguru Geto’s corpse as a new vessel.
Takako Uro warns Yuta about the limits of strength and ego. She foreshadows greater threats, including egocentric curses like Sukuna.
