Rani Mukerji’s Mardaani 3 Cop Drama Premieres on Netflix in March
Netflix will begin streaming the Rani Mukerji-led cop drama Mardaani 3 on March 27. The platform confirmed the date in an Instagram post this week.
Streaming and theatrical dates
The streamer posted a poster featuring Mukerji as ACP Shivani Shivaji Roy. The caption teased the hunt for criminals and confirmed the March 27 release.
The film previously opened in cinemas on January 30. Viewers who missed the theatrical run can watch it on Netflix from late March.
Plot and principal crew
Mukerji plays ACP Shivani Shivaji Roy, an investigator appointed by the NIA. Her mission is to locate girls who disappeared over three months.
Her inquiry uncovers a trafficking syndicate led by a character called Amma. Mallika Prasad portrays Amma in the film.
Abhiraj Minawala directed the project. Aditya Chopra produced it.
Cast and franchise background
The Mardaani series began in 2014 and became a sleeper hit. A second instalment arrived five years later.
Actors who appeared across the first two films include Tahir Raj Bhasin and Vishal Jethwa as antagonists. The original film also featured Jisshu Sengupta, Priyanka Sharma, Mikhail Yawalkar and Anil George.
Mardaani 2 added Vikram Singh Chauhan, Avneet Kaur and Anchal Sahu in key roles. The franchise has consistently centered on Mukerji’s tough police officer.
Recent accolades
Mukerji earned the National Film Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role in August 2025. The honour came for her performance in Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway.
That film was directed by Ashima Chibber. Co-stars included Anirban Bhattacharya, Neena Gupta and Jim Sarbh.
