CBS Secures 2026-27 Syndication for ‘Entertainment Tonight’ and ‘Inside Edition’
Filmogaz.com reports that CBS Media Ventures has set its syndication lineup for the 2026-27 season. The package mixes long-running titles with newer series and game shows.
Renewals and returning series
CBS has secured syndication commitments for the 2026-27 season that include Entertainment Tonight and Inside Edition. Both franchises date back to the 1980s and remain ratings staples.
Veteran courtroom series Hot Bench earned another season. Game shows Flip Side and The Perfect Line will also return to stations nationwide.
New shows joining the slate
CBS Media Ventures will add a court series titled Adam’s Law. The program stars Adam Levy, a former Putnam County, New York, district attorney.
Levy is the son of Judge Judy Sheindlin, who serves as an executive producer on the show.
Additional distribution deals
The distributor picked up syndicated rights to America’s Funniest Home Videos. It will also take on the video-clip program American Mayhem.
CBS Media Ventures will continue distributing Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune in the U.S. through the 2027-28 season. That arrangement follows a legal settlement with Sony Pictures Television. After 2027-28, Sony will assume distribution duties in addition to production.
Context in the syndication marketplace
The renewals come as several daytime and syndicated programs prepare to end. The Kelly Clarkson Show, Sherri, Karamo and The Steve Wilkos Show announced final seasons. Long-running newsmagazine Access Hollywood is also concluding its run.
Several cancellations followed NBCUniversal’s move to halt production of first-run syndicated shows. The changes have altered station lineups and opened slots for renewed series.
What this means for stations
The refreshed slate gives broadcasters established titles and new programming to schedule. The mix aims to balance dependable ratings with fresh content for local lineups.
