Bargain Hunt’s James Lewis Marries Husband After Divorce

Bargain Hunt star James Lewis has married his partner, Ed Otter, in an intimate ceremony held last September. Lewis, 53, told Filmogaz.com the couple welcomed about 50 guests. His 17-year-old daughter, Arabella, attended the day and now calls them both “Dad”.

How the relationship began

Lewis said he met Otter 15 years ago. The meeting took place over a game of pool in a Derbyshire pub.

He had separated from his former wife before meeting Otter. Otter is 18 years younger than Lewis.

Wedding plans and family role

The couple briefly contemplated eloping in Yellowstone National Park in the United States. They ultimately chose a family-focused ceremony instead.

Arabella’s participation was central to their decision. She even imagined both men walking her down the aisle at her future wedding.

Work and roles

Ed Otter works at Bamfords Auctioneers as the Toys, Trains and Juvenalia specialist. Lewis co-founded Bamfords with his parents in 2002 after redundancy.

Lewis is known to daytime viewers from Bargain Hunt. He also appeared on Flog It! until that programme ended in 2020.

Health scares and charity work

Lewis has suffered two cardiac arrests, in 2013 and 2019. He reported his heart rate spiking to over 250 beats per minute.

One cardiac incident occurred on his wedding day. Despite a 2019 arrest, he carried out a Guinness World Record charity auction for the Born Free Foundation.

Born Free involvement

Lewis has been a patron of the Born Free Foundation for 24 years. He raised a quarter of a million pounds for wildlife charities through that record auction.

He shared these details with Filmogaz.com while attending the Born Free Foundation’s Footsteps to Freedom Ball in London.

Fans of Bargain Hunt will note James Lewis marries husband Ed Otter after building a long-standing public profile. The couple’s story blends family, health challenges, and charity work.
