Filming of BBC’s Gladiators Interrupted as Bradley Walsh Faces On-Air Fury
Filming on BBC’s Gladiators was briefly interrupted during the second semi-final. Bradley Walsh faced an unexpected on-air fury when a Gladiator ambushed him.
Live ambush shocks host
The Chase presenter was onstage with his son, Barney. He had joked about having “nerves of steel” before the stunt.
Gladiator Fury crept up and popped a balloon beside Walsh. He screamed and then tried to regain his composure, saying “Next…” while laughing it off.
Audience reaction and banter
Barney and Fury laughed at the prank. Walsh smiled and thanked the athlete while visibly shaken.
The moment halted the show’s flow briefly. Production soon moved on to the next challenge.
Second semi-final results
The Wall followed the interruption. Firefighter contender Millie faced Gladiator Sabre but fell in 20 seconds.
Emily then took on Gladiator Comet and succeeded in 33 seconds. Her win earned her a place in the final on Saturday, March 28.
On the men’s side, Shaun lasted 28 seconds against Hammer. Josh managed 32 seconds versus Nitro. Both were beaten by the Gladiators.
Emily will join first semi-finalist Naomi in the final. Both women will compete for the series title.
Earlier referee confrontation
The series saw another heated moment on March 14. Referee Mark Clattenburg sharply told Walsh to “be quiet” during Collision.
Contenders Mo and Finn were disputing a dropped ball. Clattenburg insisted the rules had been broken, prompting boos from the crowd.
Walsh questioned a possible loophole before the ref rebuked him. The exchange drew a strong reaction from the audience.
