Falcons Sign Quarterback Trevor Siemian
The Atlanta Falcons agreed to add veteran quarterback Trevor Siemian, his agent Blake Baratz confirmed to Jeremy Fowler of Filmogaz.com. Siemian will work alongside Michael Penix and Tua Tagovailoa in the team’s quarterback room.
Agreement and roster details
Baratz said Siemian has reached a contract agreement with Atlanta. The move brings an experienced arm into the Falcons’ depth chart.
The Falcons signed him to bolster the position while Penix recovers. The team expects Siemian to take a meaningful share of reps in practice.
Siemian’s recent NFL activity
Siemian spent the past two seasons with the Tennessee Titans. He did not appear in regular-season games and spent most of that time on the practice squad.
In 2023, he played in five games for the New York Jets and made three starts. He originally entered the league as a 2015 seventh-round pick by Denver.
Career starts and teams
- Denver Broncos — drafted in 2015 and made starts during his time there.
- Chicago Bears — served as a starter in multiple games.
- New Orleans Saints — appeared as a starter.
- New York Jets — five games played in 2023, including three starts.
Impact on Falcons’ quarterback room
Michael Penix is recovering from a torn ACL. His limited workload should open practice reps for Siemian once the team resumes on-field work in the coming weeks.
The addition gives Atlanta a seasoned backup option. Siemian’s experience should prove valuable during Penix’s rehabilitation.
