Francisco Cerundolo upset Daniil Medvedev earlier in the week. He covered the handicap and then completed the outright win.
This is Cerundolo’s fourth trip to the Miami last 16 in five years. He has reached the quarter-finals on each of those occasions.
Oddsmakers make him a slight underdog. That looks surprising given his history at this event.

Cerundolo beat Ugo Humbert in their only prior meeting. That match came on clay at the Paris Olympics in 2024.
Cerundolo has shown hardcourt ability this season. He recorded a win over Andrey Rublev on this surface.

Humbert’s equivalent figures are 88% holds and 16% breaks. That total comes to 104.
